Iceland breathtaking
Iceland is one of the most breathtaking places I have ever visited. While we were only there for 4 days and 3 nights I fell in love with the place. Some people may think that the middle of winter is not the best time to visit but you get a whole different perspective on the landscape when its covered in snow.
Feel the power of nature
Iceland, "The country of tales, legends, volcanos, hot springs and glaciers has always been on my "list" of countries to visit. In july 2002 I went there and found that most of my expectations regarding nature were exceeded. Probably, no where else on earth are the forces of nature more evident than here. Visit Iceland and feel the power of nature!
A trip you can afford
People have many questions and misconceptions about Iceland. Where exactly is it? Just how icy is it? And why would anyone want to go there?
First off, Iceland is the closest European country to the United States—the flight is only four-and-a-half hours from JFK to Iceland’s capital, Reykjavik, on an Icelandair 757. Second, Iceland is not really as cold as its name implies. It is quite green and temperate, and not dark and gloomy as most people think.
The dream
The dream began as the plane touched down in Reykjavik, Iceland. It was a fluke that this country ended up on our schedule. Eric Anahory and I were flying together on the 'Discover Iceland' airline promotion. In order to attract tourism Iceland Air in cooperation with the Iceland Chamber of Commerce were running a special deal. Fly anywhere in Europe connecting through Reykjavik and choose to stay up to three days. We chose only one day for a few different reasons Iceland is one of the most expensive countries to travel in the world.
