Guesthouse in West Iceland

Guesthouse Leopold offers a cheap, quiet and relaxing stay down by the ocean side. We are an accommodation in the town of Akranes, West-Iceland, just about 45 minutes drive from Reykjavik.

Guesthouse Leopold is located in a beautiful street down by the sea, in the old town of Akranes. In walking distance you′ll find an ATM, a bank, a bakery, the old swimming-pool and a grocery and the harbor is 5 minutes away. Just a little further is the bus terminal to Reykjavik and a coffee house.

Available are three double-rooms with made up beds or sleeping-bag accommodation. All rooms are equipped with a sink but the bathroom and fully equipped kitchen are shared. And of course there is a spot where you can dry your cloths. It is possible to eat outside when the weather is good. There is also a high speed wireless internet access for your own laptop computer without extra charge. Voltage requirements are 220 volts. Check in/ out time is upon an agreement.

Akranes is close to many beautiful nature spots in Iceland for an example Mt. Akrafjall glacier Snaefellsjokull, Borgarfjordur and Hvalfjordur. In Akranes there is a lot to do, shops with interesting artists, various museums, beautiful walking paths, swimming-pools and a golf-course.

The sunset is amazing in West-Iceland and the street is enriched with wonderful bird-life. And in the winter the magnificent big ocean breaking waves spilling and rolling on the beach in front of the house is overwhelming and empowering.

The accommodation is open the year around and we accept all major credit-cards. The accommodation is smoke-free.
