The Botanical Garden is a true pearl of the town Akureyri. It was opened to the public in 1912, a project initiated by several Akureyri ladies, and is the world´s northernmost botanical garden. It contains specimens of almost the entire Icelandic flora and about 4.000 plants from abroad.
